About the program

Women are an integral part of our society, and the Women Build program celebrates the outstanding power they have to get together and actively contribute to transform the world.

In the Women Build program, each participant is asked to raise a minimum of $500 by soliciting their friends, family and coworkers. In return, they will spend a day in a Habitat Quebec construction site exclusive for women. These women will have the opportunity to use power tools and maybe learn new skills, while making a difference in the lives of Quebec families.

Habitat Quebec's objective is to rally 100 women who will each raise $500, and contribute to the construction of a home in Montreal.

The first Women Build took place in Waterloo, Ontario, in 2000. To date, the Women Builders worked on over 60 homes across Canada. These homes were built in Prince-Edward Island, Quebec, Ontario, Newfoundland, Nova-Scotia, Saskatchewan and Alberta.

This is the fourth edition in Quebec, almost 500 women raised over $400 000 for Habitat’s mission. Quite the accomplishment!

Construction Site

The women will work finishing the top unit of a duplex situated in Saint-Henri, Montreal. Once finished, the upper duplex will be the home of a 2-4 persons family.
